Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV 680: Lap Of Luxury, Electrified!

Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV 680 is the first electric Maybach, which is also the most powerful luxury SUV in the world, which can do 0-100km in 4.4 seconds but with utter comfort and lavishness.

The Maybach is the pinnacle of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the GLS, the ultra-luxury versions of these vehicles are filled with grandeur and prosperity, and the exterior is covered with flashy materials, lots of chrome bits, Maybach logos, jaw-dropping alloy wheel designs and plethora of road presence, the cabin welcomes you with loads of lavishness, especially on the rear seats, they have excessive cushioning to make you and your bum feel heavenly, you can recline them stretch your legs and enjoy different kinds of massages, lots of sound deadening is used to reduce the outside noise to almost 0 to keep the cabin silent, while you are enjoying your beauty sleep on the way from your home to your office boardroom, in simple words these cars make you feel that you have really ‘made it’ in your life. The Maybach line-up is powered with IC engines only, and by seeing the rise in EVs, Mercedes-Benz has come up with the first ever electric Maybach, the Maybach EQS SUV 680, which is the Maybach version of the EQS SUV.

Not only the first electric Maybach, but the Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV 680 also is the most powerful luxury SUV ever made, powered by a 108 kWh battery connected to a dual motor set-up, one on each axle, puts out 649hp and 950Nm of peak torque, can do 0-100km in 4.4 seconds, which is quicker than other ICE powered Maybach models and ultra–Luxury ICE powered SUVs like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the Bentley Bantayga and so on. Mercedes has not disclosed the official range of the Maybach EQS SUV 680 yet, but they say that it can manage up to 600km of range on a single charge, which is a commendable figure for an ultra-luxury SUV that weighs 2.8 tonnes because you don’t want to leave your cocoon and wait for 1 hour every time till it charges to 100%, while you are chauffeured around to cover long distances.

Talking about the design, the Maybach EQS SUV 680 is based on the standard EQS 580 SUV, so the headlights, taillights, and silhouette are similar to the EQS SUV, but to give the exterior the Maybach treatment you get the front grill panel with signature Maybach chrome grill structure, and all the cameras and radar sensors are hidden behind this panel, front fake vents are converted into fancy inlays with the tiny Maybach logos with chrome surrounds, shiny chrome finishing covers all the bottom panels of the exterior including the automatic footboard, which pops out automatically while you open the door, for easy access to the interior and gets optional 22″ shiny alloy wheels.

Now let’s move to the Maybach EQS SUV 680’s grand and lavish interior, where the leather upholstery is combined with sustainable materials, 2nd-row seats are offered with heating, ventilation, massage function and shoulder and neck heating function as standard, and the overall cabin has Mercedes-Benz ambient lighting with 64 different colours, you can also opt for chauffeur package, that allows you to recline the 2nd-row seats almost flat. To increase the interior lavishness at its peak Mercedes-Benz is gonna offer an optional First Class Package, which gives the rear passengers a wooden centre compartment with the deletion of the middle seat, includes a wireless mobile charging pad, HDMI port that connects with the 12″ multi-media screens mounted on the front seats, a fridge to store your most expensive champagnes with a pair of insulated cup holders and a set of silver plated champagne goblets.

On the driver side, you get the Mercedes-Benz 56″ hyper screen which includes the individual screen for the co-passenger, and now hyper screen changes colour according to the cabin’s ambient light colour, ‘Maybach’ logos on the stainless steel accelerator and brake paddle and on all 4 headrests, and when you open the front doors, they project multiple Maybach logos on the floor.

And to increase your comfort and for more sound deadening in the cabin, Mercedes-Benz has used some materials behind the rear seats that work as extra sound deadeners, extra laminated glass windows and new roof sills reduce wind noise even more, and for added comfort and convenience it has air suspension with adaptive dampers, rear-wheel steering, where rear wheels can turn up to 4 degrees.
