The All New Mighty Royal Enfield 650’s.

The Super Meteor 650 & The Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield is unveiling two brand new motorcycles at EICMA 2022, which will begin on Tuesday, November 8 and end on Sunday, November 13. EICMA is held in Fiera Milano, Rho, Italy.

The Super Meteor 650 & The Shotgun 650

The Super Meteor 650 has been spotted testing in India for quite some time; it is claimed that the heart of the bike is shared with the already existing 650 twins, i.e., the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. Meanwhile, the SG 650, or Shotgun 650, was showcased as a concept at the last EICMA.

The Super Meteor is the elder brother of the Meteor 350; it will be on a cruiser platform and will be considered a premium cruiser from Royal Enfield. The Super Meteor might get a beefed-up chassis. The bike will feature forward-set footsteps and a rear-swept handlebar for a relaxed ergonomic ride. The bike comes with a round headlight and a chrome bezel, a teardrop fuel tank, split-style seats, and a round tail light. The bike will feature twin-sided exhaust pipes similar to the current 650 twins.

The Shotgun 650 will most likely be based on a bobber platform. Being a bobber, it will come with a single seat as standard, but might have an option for a double seat as well. It features a short tubular handlebar, chopped fenders, bar end  mirrors, and chunky tyres. The bike will have a lot of styling cues, like a retro-styled polished aluminum finish on the front and end and new-age graphics on the fuel tank.

Both the new 650s might have a 648cc, air and oil-cooled, parallel twin engine. The motor will be linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor will produce 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of peak torque. Regarding the suspension setup, it is spied that the Super Meteor would include upside-down front forks and twin sided rear springs. The concept of the Shotgun 650 also featured upside-down front forks and twin-sided rear springs. For braking, the bikes will have disc brakes on both wheels. Meanwhile, the SG 650 might have double discs at the front.

The bikes will be launched in the expected price range of ₹ 3,00,000 to ₹ 3,50,000. They will compete against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, the Keeway V302C, and the Benelli 502C.
