TVS Ronin – A fusion of everything

India is one of the largest two-wheeler markets in the world as per CAGR and has reached a volume of 15.2 Million Units in 2021. With more innovation, uniqueness and improvements in this space, manufacturers are giving their all with every new product. The recently trending scrambler market is one such example. TVS wants a slice of that cake and their entry into the space is the TVS Ronin.

Design

Ronin is a modern-retro motorcycle as TVS would like to call it. It starts out as a cruiser from the front but resembles a scrambler beyond the tank. We’re still not too sure about its looks. At the front, you see the nice circular headlight with a T-shaped DRL and a Silver surround, complimenting this you see the shiny golden USD forks.

The round pop-out instrument cluster and the wide handlebar also add to the retro feel. From the side, the scrambler design continues where you have a purposeful 14-litre fuel tank followed by a nice single seat. At the lower half of the side profile, you have a 17-inch alloy with disk brakes both for front and rear, a black colour-finished engine casing, an all-black exhaust with a silver-coloured tip and a white-coloured spring for the monoshock. At the rear, you have a nice led striped tail lamp and a useful grab handle. Not to be missed out TVS is offering dual-purpose tyres with Ronin.

Features and Tech

TVS has offered Ronin with a lot of features like a digital instrument cluster with Distance to Empty, Estimated Time of Arrival, Gear Shift Assist, Side Stand Engine Inhibitor, Service Due Indication, Low Battery Indicator and also SmartXonnect Bluetooth that offers turn-by-turn navigation, voice assistance and call/message alerts. The motorcycle receives two ride modes – Urban and Rain, a 3-Step Adjustable lever and an Assist-and-Slipper Clutch system. It is offered with dual-channel ABS for the top trim.

Price, Variants and Verdict

TVS Ronin is powered by an all-new 225.9cc four-valve single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, producing 20.4 hp at 7,750 rpm and 19.93NM of torque at 3,750 rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox. TVS has offered the Ronin in 3 trims-SS, DS and TD. The base trim comes at a starting price of Rs. 1.49 lakhs and goes all the way to Rs. 1.71 lakhs for the top trim.
