At the heart of Maharashtra lies Nashik, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes & now, also an emerging hub for automotive enthusiasts. Among the few groups that exist here, the Type-2 Club stands out among all of them as a close-knit community of passionate owners & admirers of this iconic sedan.

The City as a vehicle in itself across all its generations has garnered a dedicated following since its launch here in the 90s when Honda wanted to establish itself in India as a reputed Japanese brand. It quickly gained popularity among the masses for its sleek design, reliable performance & comfortable interiors.

The club provides a platform for like-minded individuals to come together, share their experiences & celebrate their love for this gem of a machine. It was founded back in May ’23 by a group of enthusiasts who shared a common affection for the Honda City Type-2. It has grown steadily since then while attracting members from all different walks of life. What started as a small informal & casual gathering of friends has evolved into a thriving community with a shared passion for everything related to their beloved car.

Owning a car is more than just a hobby for many enthusiasts; it’s a deep personal connection to automotive history & culture. However, outdated laws & misconceptions surrounding modified vehicles have left some owners feeling afraid. Concerns about legal trouble with authorities have kept these cherished cars hidden away, depriving them of the opportunity to be admired and celebrated.

Enter the Type-2 Club. They recognized this problem & embarked on a crusade to challenge this fear. Their mission was to empower owners to proudly showcase their classic cars without fear of legal repercussions. They engaged with law enforcement agencies with cooperation in mind to address concerns & to promote understanding.

One of the key objectives of the club is to foster a sense of camaraderie among the owners. Regular meetups, both online & offline, provide members with an opportunity to connect & exchange ideas. Gatherings often feature discussions about mods, maintenance tips & best of all: the memorable driving experiences.

This particular owner has given his lovely car this fresh coat of blue, going as far as to sanding the vehicle down to bare metal & all of this he did by himself!

They have a clear motto in mind: to save these vehicles from being scrapped, to keep them within the state of Maharashtra & even going as far as to reclaim those that have ventured beyond its borders, such as to Kerala. They seek to bring these vehicles back home, reuniting them with their rightful place in the automotive landscape of Nashik.

As the Honda City Type 2 continues to hold a special place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts, the future looks promising for the club in Nashik. With a growing membership base and a strong sense of community spirit, the club is poised to expand its activities and outreach efforts in the years to come.

Looking ahead, the club aims to organize larger-scale events, collaborate with other automotive clubs & contribute to the local community in meaningful ways.
